Responsibilities

→Prepares and maintains surgical schedule for procedures and work with the providers to ensure proper time allocations and smooth transitions of work flow.
→Answers telephone; schedule appointments, screens calls, takes messages and provides information in accordance with established policies.
→Schedules patients for surgical procedures and obtains all necessary information upon arrival of patient.
→Responsible for accurately completing Physician Referrals.
→Cross-trained in check in and check out duties.
→Complete prior authorizations and verify patient insurance.

Compensation: $18.50 - $24 per hour

→High school graduate or equivalent with additional education desirable.
→Surgical scheduling experience highly desired.
→Previous clerical experience in a medical practice preferred.
→Strong computer skills.
→Knowledge of medical terminology and office procedures preferred.
→Ability to use interpersonal skills to establish/maintain cooperative relationships with patients, family members, physicians, providers, managers, co-workers and external customers.
→Maintain strictest confidentiality and discretion.
