Lab/Instructional Technician II - Dental Clinic Administrative & Sterilization Coordinator

- Oversee the operation, maintenance, and monitoring of sterilization equipment (autoclaves, ultrasonic cleaners, and instrument washers), ensuring accurate records, logs, and compliance documentation are maintained.
- Conduct and document biological monitoring (spore testing) and maintain required records to support regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate the ordering, stocking, and tracking of clinical, laboratory, and sterilization supplies and maintain appropriate inventory levels.
- Ensure compliance with CDC, OSHA, ADA, and state infection control standards related to sterilization and clinical operations.
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and clinic administrators to support clinical scheduling, instrument distribution and collection, and efficient clinic workflow.
- Initiate the purchase of supplies and the purchase, maintenance, and repair of laboratory equipment; communicate with vendors as directed by the Department Chair; maintain records related to purchases, repairs, and inventory.
- Provide program information and guidance to clinic patients, students, and other stakeholders.
- Coordinate administrative and operational activities for the Dental Clinic, including support for the Dental Clinic Manager, Clinic Office, and ADED students.
- Monitor and support student activities within the Dental Clinic Office, modeling professional behavior and customer service standards expected in a dental practice.
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate information within dental software systems.
- Monitor laboratory eyewash stations and ensure required inspections and functionality checks are completed.
- Maintain the confidentiality of patient and student records and comply with applicable regulations, including HIPAA and FERPA.
- Schedule appointments for the Medicaid Clinic and Dental Hygiene Clinic, as needed.
- Manage electronic records and forms, including the import and export of records and the transmission of encrypted communications
- Complies with all System, College, State and Federal rules and regulations.

Experience: Two (2) years of related experience providing administrative support or technical support in a dental, medical, or similar healthcare environment, including responsibility for providing program information and support to clients, students, patients, or the public.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Competency in insurance billing and coding. Strong interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills. Proficiency with computer applications and dental software systems. Ability to comply with applicable regulatory standards and maintain confidentiality. Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Knowledge of office recordkeeping, reporting, and records management principles. Knowledge of regulations and standards applicable to Dental Program and Clinic operations. Ability to exercise sound judgment and make routine decisions in accordance with established policies and procedures. Ability to gather, organize, and maintain accurate information and records. Ability to communicate program information clearly and effectively to students, patients, clients, and the public. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and function as part of a team environment. Must be willing to maintain an appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the college appointing authority.
