The International Potato Center (CIP) is looking for one (1) Legal Intern to provide support to Legal Department in Lima, Peru. About CIP: CIP is part of the CGIAR global research partnership committed to transforming food, land, and water systems into a climate crisis. Key responsibilities: Support data entry and updates to non-confidential tracking spreadsheets (e.g., general document logs, template libraries). Conduct preliminary research on publicly available legal, regulatory, governance, and institutional matters and prepare summaries under supervision. Assist in scheduling and logistical coordination for Legal Unit meetings and training sessions. Support the digitization and basic archiving of non-sensitive historical legal documentation. Provide general administrative support to the Legal team as assigned. Support the Legal team in maintaining contract trackers, legal request logs, and other Legal Services Unit monitoring tools. Assist the Legal team in updating matter status information and preparing workload reporting data. Assist in organizing and updating legal templates, clause libraries and repositories under supervision. Provide administrative and logistical support for legal training, workshops, meetings, and institutional legal initiatives, as assigned. Assist with document organization, legal knowledge repositories, and the use of approved digital tools under supervision. Comply in the performance of assigned tasks, with applicable national and international laws, regulations, and standards, including health and safety requirements. Requirements What are we looking for? Currently in the final year of, or recently graduated in Law, International Relations, Political Science, or a related field. Ranked in the upper third of their faculty (mandatory requirement). No prior professional experience required; prior internship or academic exposure to contracts/administrative law is a plus. Intermediate level of MS Office, especially Word and Excel. Intermediate level in English (Advanced is a plus). Fluent in Spanish Skill: Ensure confidentiality and ethical handling of information, even where access to sensitive matters is limited by design. Benefits Why should you consider this opportunity?
