As a Payroll Assistant, you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate payroll processing while supporting key HR functions. This is a hands-on role requiring attention to detail, organization, and a strong sense of accountability.

• →Process weekly payroll by compiling, calculating, and entering data accurately and timely
• →Maintain payroll records, including deductions, benefits, and tax information
• →Track leave, non-taxable wages, and earnings records
• →Generate payroll reports and assist with audits as needed
• →Issue paychecks and resolve discrepancies
• →Ability to use Excel and manipulate spreadsheets confidently

• Maintain and update employee records (personal data, benefits, compensation)
• Support recruiting and onboarding activities
• Ensure new hire paperwork is complete and compliant
• Track PTO and vacation accruals
• Assist with benefits administration, including open enrollment
• Manage workers' compensation records and reporting
• Serve as a resource for employee HR-related questions

• 2–3 years of payroll experience with HR exposure
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (basic formulas and functions required)
• Familiarity with payroll systems (UKG/UltiPro preferred)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Strong organization, multitasking, and communication skills - able create a schedule that works for timely payroll submission
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail – demonstrate the ability to respect established procedures but be able to use critical and forward thinking to identify opportunities to improve processes
• Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism
• Experience working in a fast-paced or manufacturing environment is a plus

• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus

• High school diploma or GED required
• Additional HR/payroll training or experience preferred
• Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered

This position reports directly to the HR Manager but supports both our employees and operations-ensuring people are paid accurately, supported effectively, and set up for success. This is a critical role within a team-driven environment where reliability, consistency and a helpful, supportive attitude are essential to the success of the team.
