Responsibilities

Performs heat treating operations by subjecting metal parts to treatment similar to annealing process to relieve internal strains, rearrange internal structure, and arranges material on table for manual feeding.

Ensures quality of product by observing condition and position of material during the process.
→
Starts and shuts down furnaces by setting controls, valves, lighting pilots and burners.
→
Sets heat control units and conveyor speeds at temperatures and rates instructed by supervisor or QA printout.
→
Maintains heat codes and have the ability to do the required paperwork.
→
Responsible for the proper lubrication of equipment.
→
Reports to supervisor any unusual conditions in operation, equipment, or material.

Responsible for production, quality, and safe operating practices.
→
Obtains reasonable production with minimum supervision.

Maintains a clean and orderly work area.

Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
