Under the supervision of the Finance Director, an Accounting Specialist is responsible for the accounts payable and accounts receivable process: entering and researching invoices; accepting and applying payments from tenants and voucher clients and keeping the cash ledgers up-to-date.

Associate’s Degree in accounting, finance, economics, business or a related field
The City of Ann Arbor, at its discretion, may consider an alternative combination of formal education and work experience.

Nice to Have

Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, economics, business or a related field
At least two years experience in Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher program and/or Public Housing Programs
At least four years experience working in the private or public property management experience
Project-based Accounting, Financial Management certification in an affordable housing program
