Weekly Earnings: $1,350–$1,500 average
Freight: No-touch regional dry van
Home Schedule: 48-hour reset every other weekend

Regional freight stability and operational consistency give St. Louis CDL-A truck drivers a dependable position with steady mileage opportunities and a clearly defined schedule. Drivers run multi-state regional freight with average hauls of 700–750 miles, a majority of drop-and-hook loads, and a repeating 12-day work cycle followed by a full 48 hours at home.

Drivers haul no-touch dry van freight across regional routes serving multiple states. Average trips run approximately 700–750 miles, providing longer stretches between customers and helping drivers build productive weekly mileage.

The majority of freight is drop-and-hook. Some customer locations require live unloading, but drivers are not responsible for handling or unloading the freight. Load planning is coordinated in advance whenever possible to help keep the next assignment ready as the current trip is completed.

The schedule follows a consistent 12-day operating cycle. Once the cycle is complete, drivers return home for a guaranteed 48-hour reset every other weekend.

Drivers with safe truck parking may take their assigned tractor home during scheduled resets. Approved parking locations are also available when another parking option is necessary.

Average weekly pay ranges from $1,350–$1,500 based on miles and experience. Additional detention compensation is available for qualifying delays.

Benefits become available after 6 months and include medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, and participation in a 401(k) retirement plan.

Drivers are assigned 2021 or newer Freightliner and Kenworth tractors with automatic transmissions.

Trucks include APUs, inverters, refrigerator space, and TV and microwave mounts for added convenience while away from home. Regular preventive maintenance helps keep equipment dependable and reduces avoidable downtime.

The combination of longer regional hauls, mostly drop-and-hook freight, and scheduled home time provides a straightforward work routine. Approved drivers may also participate in rider and pet programs.

Dispatch support is available for routing and freight coordination, while maintenance teams assist with equipment-related needs throughout each trip.
