Position Overview
Under the direction of the maintenance manager or designee, the maintenance worker I performs maintenance department activities including fueling, washing, and cleaning transit vehicles; as well as maintaining transit properties and facilities. May also receive task direction and training from the Maintenance Worker II and receive assignments and direction from lead personnel. Provides critical contributions to support Clallam Transit System’s (CTS) mission.
 
Summary of Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or high school equivalency certificate (GED) AND one year experience in the practices of facilities maintenance OR one year experience fueling and inspecting fleet vehicles and/or equipment.
  • Valid Washington State driver license, or ability to obtain. Obtain a valid WA commercial driver's license (CDL) with passenger endorsement and airbrake restriction removed, within the probationary period. Obtain a Department of Transportation (DOT) medical certificate. 
 
Working Conditions
Paid training is provided at Clallam Transit System for obtaining the required CDL. This is a safety-sensitive position subject to random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with CTS policy and federal regulations. Represented by the Amalgamated Transit Union, Local 587.
