At ClearSpace, we believe in reusability, in affordability driving disruption, and that no progress is real unless it is sustainable.

Our company was founded in 2018 out of the realization that in-orbit servicing and space debris removal are vital services for the future of space exploration and operations. Today ClearSpace has assembled an expert engineering team and is leading the way toward sustainable space operations. From a garage in Switzerland, we now operate across UK and Europe, and are working with world-leading institutions and companies to bring our dream of a sustainable space ecosystem to life.

We are looking for a Mission and Systems Engineer Intern to join our team who will work on both our current missions and future projects. This is a full-time internship (100% employment rate), and we are looking for a candidate who can fully commit to the role and actively engage with the team and projects throughout the six-month internship period.

The Role

The successful candidate will join our Mission and Systems Team and contribute to the analysis and development of space missions. Under the guidance of experienced engineers, you will support mission simulation activities, spacecraft and mission modelling, requirements verification, and the development of engineering tools and workflows. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in the space sector, learn industry-standard analysis methods, and work in a collaborative and rapidly growing environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide supporting mission simulation and analysis to mission design trade-offs, decisions, and verification of mission requirements
  • Learn how to use industry-standard space debris mitigation analysis tools to build spacecraft models, perform simulations, document and interpret results
  • Own and develop mission & systems analysis support tools and workflows

Must Have

  • Recently graduate in Bsc or Msc in aerospace engineering / space engineering / similar subjects
  • Demonstrate knowledge / interest in mission analysis and space mission sustainability topics
  • Basic knowledge of python and scripting
  • Organised / diligent and self-motivated
