The Dump Truck Operator will safely operate dump trucks to transport soil, aggregates, construction materials, and other approved loads during land development, road construction, earthworks, and estate operations. The role will ensure efficient material movement while maintaining safe vehicle operation and proper equipment care.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Operate dump trucks to transport soil, gravel, aggregates, and other materials within designated project areas.
- →Position the vehicle safely during loading and unloading activities.
- →Operate the tipping mechanism safely and ensure stable ground conditions before discharging loads.
- →Conduct daily pre-start inspections of tyres, brakes, fluids, lights, hydraulic systems, and other critical components.
- →Ensure loads remain within approved capacity and are safely transported.
- →Coordinate with excavator, loader, grader, and other equipment operators during earthmoving activities.
- →Maintain daily records of trips, machine hours, fuel usage, and identified defects as required.
- →Follow designated haul routes, traffic rules, and project health and safety procedures.
Requirements
~1 min read- Valid Tanzanian driving licence appropriate for heavy commercial/dump truck operation.
- Relevant heavy-vehicle or equipment operator training/certification is preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of practical experience operating dump trucks or heavy commercial vehicles, preferably in construction, agriculture, mining, or earthmoving operations.
- Good understanding of safe loading, hauling, tipping, and unloading procedures.
- Basic knowledge of heavy-vehicle inspection and routine operator maintenance.
- Ability to operate safely on unpaved roads, earthworks, and varying terrain.
- Strong safety awareness, discipline, and ability to follow site instructions.
- Experience in large-scale land-development or infrastructure projects will be an added advantage.
