Quantity Surveyor (QS)

The Quantity Surveyor (QS) is responsible for cost planning, measurement, valuation, and financial control of construction projects to ensure they are delivered within approved budgets and timelines. The role involves preparing bills of quantities, managing variations, certifying payments, and supporting project teams with accurate cost and contract administration while maintaining compliance with applicable construction standards and regulations in Tanzania.

• →Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs), cost estimates, and tender documentation.
• →Conduct quantity take-offs and measurements from drawings and specifications.
• →Prepare interim payment certificates, valuations, and final accounts.
• →Monitor project costs, budgets, and cash flow, identifying variances and cost-saving opportunities.
• →Evaluate variations, claims, and change orders in consultation with project teams.
• →Assist in procurement processes, including tender analysis and contractor evaluations.
• →Support contract administration in accordance with agreed contract conditions.
• →Prepare cost reports and financial summaries for management and clients.
• →Liaise with engineers, architects, contractors, and clients to resolve cost and contract issues.
• →Ensure compliance with relevant Tanzanian construction regulations, industry standards, and contractual requirements.

• Bachelors Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline.
• Minimum of two (2) years relevant experience in a Quantity Surveying role.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; confident and well spoken.
• Good problem-solving, analytical, and numerical skills.
• Proficiency in measurement, costing, and contract documentation.
• Competence in MS Excel and common QS software (e.g., PlanSwift, CostX, or similar) is an added advantage.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
