The Versatile Tractor Operator will be responsible for safely operating Versatile tractors and attached implements for land preparation, cultivation, hauling, and other large-scale agricultural operations. The role will ensure efficient tractor utilization while maintaining high standards of safety, productivity, and equipment care.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Operate Versatile tractors for land preparation, cultivation, ripping, discing, and other assigned agricultural activities.
- →Safely attach, operate, and detach compatible agricultural implements.
- →Conduct daily pre-start inspections, including engine fluids, tyres, hydraulics, brakes, and other critical components.
- →Monitor tractor performance during field operations and report mechanical or operational faults promptly.
- →Perform basic operator-level maintenance, lubrication, cleaning, and routine equipment checks.
- →Follow designated field patterns, operating instructions, and work schedules.
- →Maintain daily records of tractor hours, fuel usage, completed work, and identified defects.
- →Follow all farm safety procedures and manufacturer operating requirements.
Requirements
~1 min read- Certificate or recognized vocational/agricultural machinery operator training is preferred.
- Valid relevant tractor/operator licence or certification where applicable.
- Minimum 3 years of practical tractor operating experience, preferably with high-horsepower tractors in commercial agriculture.
- Practical knowledge of agricultural implements and large-scale land-preparation operations.
- Basic understanding of tractor engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions, tyres, and routine operator maintenance.
- Ability to identify and report basic mechanical or operational faults.
- Strong safety awareness, discipline, and ability to follow field instructions.
- Previous experience operating Versatile or similar high-horsepower agricultural tractors will be an added advantage.
