Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Systems Engineer responsible for defining and managing system-level requirements, ensuring compliance with relevant standards, and overseeing system verification and validation activities. The role involves working closely with product owners, engineering teams, and third-party vendors to ensure successful delivery of integrated systems, including AI and computer vision-based solutions.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Define and document system-level requirements, identifying and assessing applicable ISO/IEC standards.
  • Develop and maintain system architecture documentation and interface definitions.
  • Create and maintain a Requirements Management Plan, outlining the structure and traceability of:
    • Customer Requirements
    • System Requirements
    • Interface Requirements (including third-party hardware)
    • Software Requirements
    • Hardware Requirements
    • AI/Computer Vision Model Requirements (performance, accuracy, latency)
    • Verification & Validation (V&V) requirements
  • Establish and maintain clear ownership of requirements and deliverables between internal teams and external partners.
  • Maintain the product risk management file, including risk management plans, system hazard analysis, and risk reports (including AI-related risks such as model accuracy, bias, and failure scenarios).
  • Oversee compliance testing activities and provide guidance on applicable standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop system verification plans, test protocols, and reports, and conduct end-to-end system testing, including validation of AI/vision pipelines.
  • Collaborate with hardware and software engineering teams to ensure system reliability and performance.
  • Work with hardware engineers to define reliability testing scenarios and ensure appropriate validation coverage.
  • Work closely with AI/ML teams to define data pipelines, model integration, inference workflows, and performance optimization on edge/GPU systems.
 
Required Skills & Experience
  • Strong experience in systems engineering, requirements management, and system architecture documentation.
  • Knowledge of ISO/IEC standards and compliance processes.
  • Experience in risk management, hazard analysis, and system verification & validation (V&V).
  • Basic to intermediate understanding of AI/ML systems, particularly computer vision and video processing pipelines.
  • Familiarity with integrating AI models into production systems (edge or cloud).
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams and third-party vendors.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with video processing systems in operating room (OR) environments or similar high-reliability systems.
  • Familiarity with medical device systems, imaging systems, or complex hardware-software integrated environments.
  • Exposure to computer vision systems using cameras.
  • Experience collaborating with hardware and software engineering teams in regulated industries.
