Reeves Construction Company is seeking qualified candidate for the Asphalt Plant Maintenance Technician position serving the Piedmont regional asphalt plants - Columbia & Newberry.
Responsibilities

- →Promote Safety. Take an active role in prioritizing safety throughout the operation for yourself and others at all times in accordance with OSHA and Reeves standards.
- →Repair and Maintain Plant Equipment. Perform repairs and maintenance throughout the plant including screen changes, conveyor belt repair and adjustment, wear parts replacement, crusher liner changes, and water pump service. Perform cutting, grinding, and welding as needed. Lubricate, clean, and perform other small services to heavy mobile equipment and stationary equipment in order to maximize performance and limit downtime.
- →Inspect Equipment and Structures. Perform daily inspections and maintenance of the plant equipment in order to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operations to maximize production and minimize interruptions. Routinely perform oil samples, interpreting results and making recommendations based on analysis.
- →Document and Record Information. Ensure correct and accurate documentation is completed on a daily and monthly basis regarding all equipment. Enter and maintain service reports for all the equipment in written or electronic form. Enter and maintain service and lubrication reports regarding the plant equipment used to ensure preventative maintenance is up to date.
- →Monitor Processes and Materials. Monitor and review the plant, specifically various aggregate crushing, washing, and screening areas to identify problems and ensure safety and materials compliance.
- →Handle and Move Objects. Handle, install, position, and move parts, materials, and industrial hand tools in a safe manner throughout the shop and plant.
- →Perform General Physical Activities. Perform physical activities that require moving your whole body and considerable use of your arms and legs, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.

- Previous experience in the aggregate or construction industry is preferred.
- Knowledge of general principles and practices of industrial maintenance, construction, or aggregate production is preferred.
- Must be able to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands.
- Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.
- Mechanical Skills - Must have some knowledge of industrial tools, their uses, and maintenance.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Stick welding: 1 year (Required)
- Mechanical knowledge: 1 year (Preferred)
- MIG welding: 1 year (Preferred)
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

• Must be able to climb onto and up and down a machine several times a day.
• Must be able to sit in a machine and operate it for several hours without stopping.
• Must withstand vibration from job site conditions as well as noise from other equipment.

• Must be able to perform manual duties such as placing paint drums on the vehicle.

The employee frequently is required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Employees must have 20/40 vision, either naturally or with corrective lenses. Hearing should be excellent or corrected by audio device.
