Engineering Manager Location: Johannesburg, South Africa Position Summary: We are in search of a seasoned Engineering Manager with a wealth of experience in the water industry to lead our engineering department. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of leadership and technical expertise, with more than eight years of experience in the field. Responsibilities: Oversee the engineering department, ensuring effective management of projects, teams, and resources. Develop strategic planning for the design, development, and delivery of projects within the water industry. Cultivate a strong team environment that encourages innovation and excellence in engineering practices. Drive the research and implementation of new technologies and methodologies to enhance project outcomes. Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and regulatory agencies. Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations across all engineering activities. Manage budgets, forecasts, and timelines, delivering projects on time and within financial targets. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; a Master’s degree or MBA would be advantageous. Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent professional qualification. More than eight years of experience in the water industry, with at least five years in a managerial or leadership role. Demonstrable success in leading large-scale engineering projects from conception to completion. Strong technical background with a deep understanding of water treatment processes and systems. Excellent organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills. Outstanding leadership and communication abilities, with experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
