Responsibilities

  • Conduct behavioral health assessments and screenings to identify psychological, emotional, and behavioral concerns.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans utilizing evidence-based cognitive behavioral interventions.
  • Provide individual, group, and family counseling services as appropriate.
  • Deliver Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and related therapeutic modalities to support patient treatment goals.
  • Assist patients in developing coping strategies for stress, anxiety, depression, adjustment disorders, and other behavioral health conditions.
  • Provide psychoeducation on resilience, emotional regulation, stress management, and performance enhancement.
  • Collaborate with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with applicable regulations and standards.
  • Participate in case reviews, treatment planning meetings, and interdisciplinary consultations.
  • Support prevention and outreach initiatives designed to enhance psychological readiness and overall wellness.
  • Ensure compliance with ethical standards, patient confidentiality requirements, and organizational policies.

Requirements

  • Education and Certifications:
    • Master's or Doctoral degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, Behavioral Health, or a closely related field from an accredited institution
    • Current, active, unrestricted clinical license in a U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia, as applicable to discipline
  • Required Experience and Skills:
    • Minimum of two years of clinical experience providing behavioral health services
    • Experience utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and evidence-based treatment approaches
    • Experience working within military, healthcare, government, or community behavioral health settings preferred
  • Skills & Competencies
    • Thorough knowledge of cognitive behavioral therapy principles and interventions.
    • Strong assessment, counseling, and treatment planning skills
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
    • Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams
    • Strong documentation and case management abilities
    • Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality in sensitive situations
  • Work Environment
    • Work performed in military treatment facilities, operational settings, and clinical environments throughout Japan
    • Interaction with active-duty military personnel, beneficiaries, and healthcare professionals
    • Compliance with Department of Defense, Military Treatment Facility, and organizational policies and procedures
