Job Title: Tree & Shrub Sales Associate
Join our team this season as a Tree & Shrub Sales Associate! We’re looking for motivated, plant-loving individuals who enjoy working outdoors and helping guests select the right trees and shrubs to enhance their landscapes. This role combines horticultural knowledge, hands-on plant care, and exceptional customer service to create an outstanding garden center experience.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Assistance & Plant Selection
Guide guests through the tree and shrub department, helping them choose plants that best suit their landscape, sunlight conditions, soil type, and design goals. Provide clear, confident advice on planting and long-term care.
Plant Care & Quality Management
Maintain the health and presentation of all tree and shrub material through proper watering, spacing, pruning, and monitoring for plant health issues.
Merchandising & Department Presentation
Organize and display plant material in an attractive and easy-to-shop layout. Ensure the department remains clean, well-labeled, and visually inspiring for guests.
Inventory & Deliveries
Assist with unloading plant deliveries, moving and staging trees and shrubs, and stocking the sales yard efficiently while maintaining plant quality.
Team Support & Guest Experience
Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth operations and provide every guest with a welcoming, knowledgeable, and enjoyable shopping experience.
Qualifications
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as moving plant material, working outdoors, and standing for extended periods in various weather conditions.
Availability
Flexible schedule including weekdays and weekends during the peak spring season.
Interest in Horticulture
A genuine enthusiasm for plants, landscaping, and helping others succeed in their gardens.
Experience
Previous retail, nursery, landscaping, or horticulture experience is helpful but not required. A willingness to learn and grow with our team is most important.
