Chief Engineer (Network / Systems Engineering Lead)

- Serves as technical lead for network infrastructure design, sustainment, and lifecycle / technology refresh across all supported sites.
- Owns the Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) process and the technical configuration baseline.
- Ensures interoperability across consolidated legacy systems and leads technical transition planning.
- Provides engineering authority for secure and classified mission systems and their required availability.
- Coordinates with cybersecurity / ISSM staff on secure architecture and Risk Management Framework (RMF) / Authority to Operate (ATO) engineering decisions.
- Leads modernization engineering, including zero trust architecture (ZTA), DevSecOps, hybrid / commercial cloud, and AI-enabled operations (AIOps).
- Serves as the technical escalation point for complex outages, capacity, and performance issues.
- Represents the contractor engineering position in Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs) and Configuration Control Boards (CCBs).
- Owns COMSEC, TEMPEST, and spectrum considerations where they intersect network architecture.
- Drives technical documentation, design verification, and compliance with applicable DoD architecture, RMF, and spectrum standards.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer / Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (Master's preferred).
- 10+ years of network / systems engineering experience, including 5+ years in a lead or chief engineer role.
- Experience engineering or sustaining DoD network infrastructure; exposure to secure / classified systems.
- Modernization experience (zero trust, cloud, DevSecOps) and RMF / ATO familiarity strongly preferred.
- USSF/USAF or DoD space mission environment experience preferred.
- Senior network certification such as CCNP or CCIE may be required.
- DoD 8140/8570-aligned IAT Level II or III (e.g., Security+, CySA+, or higher) may be required.
- Active Top Secret (TS) clearance required; eligibility for TS/SCI may be required for certain work areas.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- On-site position in the Colorado Springs, CO area; recurring presence at supported installations (travel estimated up to 25%).
- Fast-paced 24/7/365 mission-support environment; occasional after-hours support for major outages or engineering events.
