General Summary:

Responsible for purchasing a wide variety of goods, services, and supplies for Dallas Area Rapid Transit's (DART) Purchasing Section.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• →Performs pre- purchase planning and coordination with the requisitioner on complex procurements.
• →Assists team members with procurements.
• →Conducts all complex procurement activities in compliance with applicable procedures, regulations and laws.
• →Develops qualified and responsible sources of supply.
• →Determines method of purchase and prepares requests for quotations.
• →Analyzes bids and quotations, negotiates price and selects supplier after considering prices, quality, and ability to meet delivery requirements.
• →Prepares purchase orders to reflect the negotiated agreement.
• →Prepares and maintains purchase order file.
• →Follows up on delinquent orders and expedites material necessary to meet a delivery requirement.
• →Initiates and processes correspondence with vendors.
• →Certifies and processes invoices for payment.
• →Prioritizes assignments to meet requested delivery schedules.
• →Performs other related duties as assigned.
