Summary Statement

We are looking for a Psychologist Supervisor to join our team of motivated clinical and milieu staff who provide treatment services within the Children's Department for youth in the crisis program (short term stabilization unit) and the diagnostic program (90 day residential focused on diagnostic clarification and treatment recommendations).� This individual would serve as Clinical Director and be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the programs.� This position also provides training, consultation, supervision and being an active member of our management team.\r\n

Essential Functions

Essential functions are fundamental, core functions common to all positions in the class series and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all job duties for any one position in the class. Since class specifications are descriptive and not restrictive, incumbents can complete job duties of similar kind not specifically listed here.\r\n\r\n Selects, administers, scores and interprets a wide variety of psychological tests to measure and evaluate intelligence, achievement, personality, interests and other mental characteristics.\r\n ��� \r\n Interviews and observes individuals at play, in group interactions, or other situations to detect indications of mental deficiency, abnormal behavior, or maladjustment.\r\n ��� \r\n Communicates with public, private and state agencies, community service organizations, courts, schools, police and families in order to develop effective treatment strategies. \r\n ��� \r\n Analyzes information to assess individual problems.\r\n ��� \r\n Evaluates the relevance and importance of psychological theories, concepts and principles. \r\n ��� \r\n Identifies symptoms, makes diagnoses and develops approach to treatment.\r\n ��� \r\n Develops and implements treatment plans, evaluates effectiveness and adapts plans. \r\n � \r\n Engages individuals in assisting in the identification of their emotional problems and in the identification of a variety of interventions to assist in addressing these issues.\r\n �� \r\n Provides psychotherapy and other various treatments to individuals, groups and/or families.� \r\n ��� \r\n Conducts psychological practice according to the ethical standards of psychology.\r\n ��� \r\n Writes progress notes and reports regarding test interpretation, evaluation and individual progress. \r\n\r\n

JOB REQUIREMENTS for Psychologist \r\nApplicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:\r\n\r\n Possession of a doctoral degree in psychology. \r\n Possession of a Delaware Psychologist license or eligibility for a Delaware Psychologist license.\r\n\r\n\r\nJOB REQUIREMENTS for Psychologist Supervisor \r\nApplicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:\r\n\r\n Possession of a Delaware Psychologist license or eligibility for a Delaware license. \r\n Knowledge of staff supervision acquired through course work, academic training, training provided through an employer, or performing as a lead worker overseeing the work of others; OR supervising staff which may include planning, assigning, reviewing, and evaluating the work of others; OR supervising through subordinate supervisors a group of professional, technical, and clerical employees. \r\n\r\nAdditional Job Requirements for Department of Services for Children, Youth and their Families \r\n\r\n At least two years post licensure experience working with children or adolescents. \r\n\r\n
