Assistant Housekeeping Manager

As Assistant Housekeeping Manager, you play an important role in maintaining this standard of excellence and supporting the Housekeeping Team to make a difference for our guests every single day.

As Assistant Housekeeping Manager, you support the daily management of the Housekeeping Team, including the public area cleaning staff and linen room, and report to the Director of Rooms. With a keen eye for detail, you oversee the hotel to ensure that all standards are consistently maintained, so that every guest enjoys an unforgettable experience. You also supervise the external cleaning company responsible for guest room cleaning.

You help coordinate the daily operations of the Housekeeping department, making sure everything runs smoothly. You guide and motivate colleagues, spot opportunities for improvement, and actively contribute to a good atmosphere and clear internal communication within the team. You act as the first point of contact for questions or challenges on the floor. You also help think through the hotel’s visual presentation, including decoration, and support with reporting and keeping an eye on operational matters.

•        You have 3-4 years of experience in a supervisory role within Housekeeping or a related Rooms Division department

•        You hold a completed MBO or HBO level education

•        You are creative in finding solutions and passionate about achieving the best results together

•        Experience in a 5-star hotel is preferred, and you are fluent in English

•        You thrive in a dynamic environment, pay attention to detail, and are not afraid to try new approaches

•        You are a natural motivator who brings out the best in your colleagues

•        Proficiency in Dutch and English

•        Positive energy and enthusiasm

•        Experience with LQA standards

•        Education from a hotel management school

•        Good knowledge of the city of Amsterdam
