We are looking for a skilled Automation Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable automation solutions that improve operational efficiency within a managed services environment. This role is ideal for someone with strong scripting expertise, hands-on experience with RMM and RPA platforms, and a solid understanding of IT operations and automation best practices.

You will work closely with infrastructure, service desk, and engineering teams to streamline workflows, automate repetitive tasks, and enhance operational performance across a range of systems and platforms.

You will be working with a technology-driven managed services organisation focused on delivering innovative IT solutions and operational excellence. The business is committed to leveraging automation, integration, and modern technologies to improve service delivery, optimise internal processes, and enhance customer outcomes.

Requirements

  • Strong proficiency in PowerShell, Python, Jinja, and Bash scripting
  • Hands-on experience designing and maintaining automation workflows using RPA platforms such as Rewst or similar tools
  • Experience working within RMM environments such as Datto RMM or equivalent platforms
  • Solid understanding of REST APIs, system integrations, and JSON data handling
  • Experience working with Git for version control and collaboration
  • Knowledge of web and email technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Previous experience within MSP, Helpdesk, Service Desk, or IT infrastructure environments
  • Strong understanding of MSP operations, workflows, and common operational challenges
  • Experience automating service desk processes, infrastructure management, and operational workflows
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Azure, and MSP tools such as ConnectWise or Autotask is highly desirable
  • Strong documentation and communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional technical teams
  • Proactive approach to identifying automation opportunities and process improvements
  • Ability to balance operational priorities while maintaining high-quality delivery standards

  • Design, develop, and maintain automation workflows using scripting and RPA platforms
  • Build reusable automation modules to support IT operations and service delivery
  • Develop and maintain scripts using PowerShell, Python, Jinja, and Bash
  • Work with JSON and structured data to support scalable automation solutions
  • Develop automation solutions within RMM environments such as Datto RMM or similar platforms
  • Automate operational MSP tasks including user provisioning, ticketing workflows, device management, monitoring, and alert remediation
  • Support and optimise service desk and infrastructure operations through automation initiatives
  • Build and maintain integrations using REST APIs across systems and platforms
  • Work with API documentation including OpenAPI and Swagger specifications
  • Integrate automation solutions with Microsoft 365, Azure, and other MSP technologies
  • Use Git for version control and collaborative development practices
  • Maintain clear documentation for automation workflows, scripts, and integrations
  • Work closely with service desk, infrastructure, and engineering teams to identify automation opportunities and deliver scalable solutions
  • Identify repetitive manual tasks and implement automation to improve operational efficiency
  • Continuously optimise workflows for performance, scalability, and reliability
  • Apply security-first principles across all automation processes and integrations
