The Dealer (Alternate Investment Fund) will be responsible for executing equity trades as directed by the Portfolio Managers, maintaining relationships with market counterparts, and providing timely insights on market conditions. This role requires proactive engagement with the market to facilitate efficient trading execution and support post-trade processes in collaboration with internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
Trade Execution:
1. Execute buy and sell orders of equity securities as authorized by Portfolio Managers ensuring optimal prices and adherence to compliance standards.
2. Maintain accuracy and speed in trade execution, prioritizing risk management and adherence to internal guidelines.
Market Intelligence and Relationship Building
1. Develop and maintain relationships with brokers and other market participants to access insights and enhance trade execution.
2. Monitor and communicate key market developments, trading environment changes, trading volumes, and price volatility trends to Portfolio Managers, assisting in informed decision-making.
Trade Monitoring and Reporting
Trade Monitoring and Reporting
1. Monitor trade execution quality, report significant deviations from expected trade metrics and recommend process improvements if necessary.
2. Prepare and present daily trade summaries, highlighting market trends and any anomalies encountered during execution.
Compliance and Documentation:
1. Ensure that all trades comply with relevant regulatory standards and internal policies.
2. Maintain accurate records of executed trades, supporting the organization’s audit and compliance requirements.
Back Office Coordination:
1.Work closely with the Back Office team to ensure timely and accurate settlement of trades, managing discrepancies and facilitating resolution of issues promptly.
Competencies needed for the role
1. Strong knowledge of equity markets, trading protocols, and compliance requirements.
2. Analytical Skills: Ability to analyse market trends and provide actionable insights to Portfolio Managers.
3. Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in trade execution and reporting.
Years of Experience
Minimum 10 years of experience in equity trading
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in finance.
