Site Manager

Experienced Site Manager | Waste & Environmental Projects | Site Based

Are you an experienced Site Manager who knows how to take control of a project, lead from the front and deliver safely, professionally and on programme?

We’re looking for an established Site Manager to take ownership of our projects on site, from initial mobilisation through to successful client handover.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who is confident managing people, subcontractors, plant, programme, costs and client relationships. You’ll have the autonomy and responsibility to keep your site moving, solve problems as they arise and make sure work is delivered to the standards our customers expect.

What you’ll be doing

Reporting to the Contracts Manager, you’ll be responsible for the successful day-to-day running of your projects, with a strong focus on safety, quality, programme and commercial performance.

You’ll:

  • Take ownership of your site, from pre-start through to completion and handover.
  • Lead projects with a strong health, safety and environmental culture, working towards incident and injury-free delivery.
  • Manage and coordinate site teams, subcontractors, plant and materials to keep projects running efficiently.
  • Work closely with the Contracts Manager to manage programme, costs and project targets.
  • Plan ahead, identifying potential challenges and putting solutions in place before they impact delivery.
  • Maintain a strong working relationship with the client and their representatives throughout the project.
  • Provide clear, timely reporting on progress, cost, programme, plant and site activity.
  • Ensure site documentation, RAMS, permits, inductions, toolbox talks and other H&S requirements are properly managed.
  • Oversee plant and equipment, making sure it is used efficiently, inspected and maintained.
  • Lead and develop the people working on your projects, identifying performance and training needs.
  • Work collaboratively with our commercial, operational, H&S, HR and other internal teams.
  • Represent DUNTON professionally on site and protect our reputation with customers and stakeholders.

What we’re looking for

This isn’t an entry-level Site Manager position. We’re looking for someone who already understands what it takes to run a successful site and is comfortable being accountable for delivery.

Ideally, you’ll bring:

  • Earthworks remediation, Bulk earthworks and soil stabilisation experience
  • Proven experience managing sites, teams and subcontractors.
  • Strong knowledge of health & safety and CDM requirements.
  • Experience planning and programming projects.
  • Good commercial awareness, including experience working with budgets and cost control.
  • The confidence to make decisions and solve problems in a live site environment.
  • Strong organisational and record-keeping skills.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to build credible relationships with clients and site teams.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • A full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

You should hold:

  • SMSTS
  • CSCS competency card
  • First Aid

A relevant degree would be advantageous, but practical experience and a proven track record of delivering projects are what really matter to us.

Why join DUNTON?

We’re looking for someone who wants more than simply keeping a site ticking over.

You’ll be trusted to take ownership, lead your team and influence how your projects are delivered. You’ll work closely with our Contracts Manager and wider business, with the opportunity to use your experience to improve performance, identify better ways of working and play a genuine part in the continued growth of the business.

If you’re an experienced Site Manager who takes pride in running safe, organised and commercially successful sites, we’d like to hear from you.
