EES provides mission-critical engineering support at the FAA's William J. Hughes Technical Center, the agency's premier research and testing facility, helping advance the nationwide safety and efficiency of air traffic control services. EES sustains and modernizes infrastructure supporting the National Airspace System across multiple technical domains. We have an immediate opening for highly qualified candidates with systems engineering expertise to support the technical refresh of a real-time air traffic management system. This 18-month position, with the possibility of extension, requires frequent travel on an approximately one-week-on, one-week-off schedule from the FAA William J. Hughes Technical Center location.

 

  • Develop deployment support documentation for customers
  • Work with the management to develop deployment specifications and configurations
  • Analyze and troubleshoot deployment issues in a timely manner
  • Act as customer contact for deployment related inquiries and issues
  • Install and test hardware at FAA customer sites
  • Create technical artifacts needed for deployments at FAA customer sites
  • Troubleshoot malfunction occurrences during hardware installations

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizen and permanent residency
  • Bachelor's degree (in computer science, engineering, or mathematics) + 2-10 yrs. related experience  
  • Must be able to lift at least 30lbs
  • Experience using power tools
  • Experience troubleshooting installation/boot-up issues
  • Knowledge and experience with mid to large scale hardware refreshes/deployments in a government environment
  • Must have analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Must have time management, priority allocation and task management skills
  • Ability to interact with customers and team members
  • Must be able to work in a time-sensitive environment installing hardware on mission-critical systems
  • Must be able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Must be able to travel- travel will be frequent
  • Excellent customer service, Interpersonal skills and communication skills are required
