Expert Database Administrator

Join our Chandigarh office as an Expert Database Administrator and contribute to the reliability and scalability of the database infrastructure behind our global platforms. 

As part of the global database systems team, you’ll work on both operational and engineering initiatives across Oracle environments. This is a pivotal role focused on enhancing database performance, increasing system resilience, and driving automation. You will also support major programs such as our Infrastructure as Code (IaC) strategy and cloud migration to AWS projects critical to our growth and agility.

• →Administer and maintain Oracle databases across development, QA, and production environments with a focus on availability, performance, and security.
• →Support and improve the database infrastructure underpinning the Enterprise platform, with emphasis on proactive maintenance and enhanced monitoring.
• →Own day-to-day operations including installations, patching, incident resolution, and change management for Oracle environments.
• →Contribute to long-term initiatives including adoption of Infrastructure as Code and migration to AWS-hosted database solutions.
• →Develop, maintain, and improve automation scripts to streamline operations and reduce manual intervention.
• →Perform performance tuning, capacity planning, and disaster recovery planning in collaboration with platform teams.
• →Monitor system health and troubleshoot issues using standard diagnostic and monitoring tools.
• →Collaborate closely with engineering, DevOps, and infrastructure teams across global offices to support deployments and project delivery. 

• 8-10 years of hands-on experience as an Oracle Database Administrator supporting production environments, preferably with 19c.
• Strong understanding of Oracle architecture, performance tuning, and backup/recovery processes using RMAN.
• Practical experience in Oracle PL/SQL development and support for mission-critical applications.
• Proficient in Linux-based systems (e.g., RHEL) and automation through scripting languages such as Bash or Python.
• Exposure to tools such as Terraform and Ansible, with a keen interest in cloud-based solutions, especially AWS.
• Willingness to work primarily in US Eastern time hours and cover after-hours and weekend support on a rotational basis.
• Experience with PostgreSQL administration in hybrid or cloud environments is a strong plus.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues independently.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills when working with cross-functional, geographically distributed teams.
• Comfortable participating in on-call rotations and providing off-hours support when required.
