Site Ambassador, On-Site Basketball Operations

• Would you rather be on your feet talking to kids and parents all night than sitting behind a desk?
• Are you the person who shows up early, follows the plan to the letter, and leaves the place cleaner than you found it?
• Does it bother you when a parent walks out unhappy or a session starts late?
• Can you work Friday nights and weekends during the season, and get to Redwood City in 30 minutes or less?

If you said yes to most of these, keep reading. This job was built for you. If you are looking for a desk job, a remote role, or a quiet shift, this is not it, and that is okay.

Team Esface is a premium youth basketball academy on the SF Peninsula, serving 300+ athletes year-round through club teams, developmental leagues, camps, clinics and training. Families pay for a premium experience, and every minute they spend in our gym should feel like it.

You are the face of Team Esface in the building. When a family walks in, you are the first person they see and the last person they talk to. You make sure every session starts on time, every kid is checked in, every coach has what they need, and the gym is left better than we found it. You are not behind a desk. You are on the floor, talking to people, solving problems, and keeping the energy high.

Before the session

• →Arrive at least 45 minutes early and work the site setup checklist: clock and scoreboard, table, cones, balls, hoop heights, signage, music
• →Confirm assigned coaches are on site 15 minutes before start and flag any gaps to HQ immediately
• →Print or load rosters and check-in lists

During the session

• →Greet every family, learn names fast, and run check-in accurately
• →Welcome first-time players and their parents, and walk them through what to expect
• →Answer parent questions on the spot, and log anything you cannot answer for HQ the same day
• →Keep the schedule on track: courts, game clocks, rotations, transitions between groups
• →Run game-day operations for league games and hosted events: table, scoreboard, admissions, referee check-in
• →Step onto the court when needed: rebound, run a station, demo a drill
• →Handle minor incidents (injuries, lost items, facility issues) using our escalation procedure

After the session

• →Run the closing checklist: equipment stored, trash out, lost and found logged, gym spotless
• →Protect our facility partner relationships by following their house rules every time
• →Submit a 5-minute end-of-shift report: attendance, parent issues, incidents, what could be better

• You played basketball (high school, college or high-level club) and you still love being in a gym
• You have high energy and you like people. Talking to parents and kids all night sounds fun, not draining
• You are reliable. On time, every time, and you follow a checklist to the letter
• You take pride in the details: a clean gym, a correct roster, a parent who leaves happy
• You want to grow. Strong ambassadors become Lead Site Ambassadors, and some move into coaching

• Available Friday evenings and weekends during the season, plus some weekday evenings
• Able to reliably reach our Redwood City and mid-Peninsula sites within 30 minutes
• Reliable transportation
• Able to stand for long shifts, lift and carry equipment up to 40 lbs, and set up tables and scoreboards
• Comfortable with a smartphone, WhatsApp and simple apps (we will train you on the rest)
• Must pass a background check and complete required youth-safety training before working with athletes
• Customer service, event staff, recreation or camp experience is a plus, not required

Site Ambassadors follow the Team Esface Code of Excellence: Esface-branded top visible at all times, early arrival, fast response to HQ, and no phones out on the floor except for check-in and operations.

$22 to $26 per hour to start, based on experience, with a raise after a 90-day review at standard. Lead Site Ambassadors earn $27 to $32 per hour.
