Casual Teacher Aides & Early Childhood Educators

The Eskasoni School board is looking for casual teacher aides and ECE substitutes to be available for work on short notices for all schools under ESB including the daycare.  The TA will play a vital role in the classroom, working to support teachers working with individuals, or groups of students with special needs.

Requirements:

• Grade 12 or Equivalent
• Teacher Assistant or Early Childhood Diploma an asset 
• Experience working with students exhibiting challenging behaviors
• Ability to speak and understand Mi'kmaq an asset 
• Ability to perform the required physical tasks of the position and assist with personal care.
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to work as a team and self motivated
• Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
• Current criminal record with vulnerable sector and child abuse registry check must be provided.
