We are thrilled to announce that Veterinary Specialty Hospital Sorrento Valley will be home to our new Cardiology Department, with an expected grand opening by end of 2026.

This is an exciting opportunity for full-time Veterinary Technicians and Assistants to collaborate with dynamic veterinary professionals in a truly unique environment.

Our Cardiology department will be dedicated to diagnosing and managing complex cardiac conditions, enhancing patient outcomes, and supporting the health and well-being of our patients and their families.

About the role:

  • Assisting doctors with patient appointments and treatments including but not limited to radiographs, ECG’s and lab work
  • Providing outstanding client communication and education
  • Reviewing patient treatment plans and post-procedure care with clients
  • Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures to ensure their safety and comfort.

RVT:

  • Minimum 3 years experience in the veterinary field as credentialed technician in a progressive hospital
  • Strong understanding of sedation and general anesthesia
  • Strong communication skills, organizational skills
  • Accuracy in calculating and delivering anesthetic agents, fluids, and CRIs
  • Assist in obtaining patient histories and triaging patients as needed.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology and medical procedures

VA:

  • Minimum 5 years experience in the veterinary field (AVA or VA certification a plus)
  • Ensure all cardiology equipment is properly maintained, cleaned, and readily available for use (training provided)
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to assist technicians and doctors as needed

Pay Ranges:

RVT:  $28 - $40/hr

VA:  $24 - $35/hr

Schedule:  4/10's   Days TBD
