As Head of Events, you'll lead the national events team, driving performance, growth, and team development across a diverse portfolio of projects. You will play a pivotal role in shaping strategic customer partnerships, growing client relationships, and delivering exceptional event outcomes. As a senior leader, you'll contribute to the direction of FCM Meetings & Events while fostering a collaborative, high-performing, and creative team culture.

This role can be based in our Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane office. 

What you will be doing: 

• Lead the overall performance, growth, and development of the national events team while fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture
• Manage workflow, resource allocation, and project staffing to ensure the right skills are aligned to client and business requirements
• Recruit, coach, mentor, and develop team members, supporting capability growth through structured training and development plans
• Drive business growth by partnering with Sales and Account Management teams to strengthen existing client relationships and support new business opportunities
• Oversee project profitability, pricing strategies, and commercial performance to deliver strong customer outcomes and business results
• Partner with Finance to achieve monthly and annual financial targets, while maintaining oversight of supplier payments, reconciliations, and work logs
• Provide leadership and support across event project teams, ensuring exceptional event delivery, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction

You'll be perfect for the role if you have: 

• A minimum of 8 years demonstrated experience in project management within the event management and production industry
• Proven track record in effective leadership and experience in training and mentoring team members
• Experience in leading an operational team
• Demonstrated effective customer service skills
• Knowledge of project management processes, standards, and procedures
• Knowledge of all major suppliers and relevant MICE products and destinations
• Experience in P&L management and driving productivity and profit
