About the Role

As a Sonographer, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging services. Working as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary healthcare team, you will perform ultrasound examinations, produce accurate diagnostic images, and support patient care through professional and compassionate service.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of ultrasound examinations including abdominal, obstetrical, and gynecological scans
  • Ensure high-quality image acquisition and proper documentation of technical observations
  • Archive and verify imaging in PACS systems
  • Prepare and explain procedures to patients, ensuring comfort, safety, and confidentiality
  • Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare professionals regarding findings
  • Maintain ultrasound equipment and ensure a clean, safe working environment
  • Coordinate with clinical teams to support efficient patient flow and care delivery
  • Participate in on-call/standby duties as required
  • Support students and learners in the clinical environment when applicable

Requirements

  • Current registration with Sonography Canada (CRGS designation required)
  • Experience in abdominal, obstetrical, and gynecological ultrasound

  • Previous experience in a hospital or healthcare diagnostic imaging setting
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment
  • Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous professional development
  • Experience in vascular, musculoskeletal (MSK), shoulder, Doppler, or cardiac imaging
  • Bilingualism (English/French)
  • Rotating shifts including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and on-call
  • Physically demanding role requiring patient positioning and equipment handling
