POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Recovery Resources Driver will provide transportation support and peer recovery support services to individuals releasing from the Polk County Jail who are actively involved with Full Circle Recovery’s Corrections Recovery Coaching Program. This position is designed to reduce barriers to treatment engagement, housing stabilization, recovery support, probation compliance, employment, behavioral health services, and continuity of care during the critical transition period immediately following release from incarceration.
This is a part-time position based on a 20-hour work week.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Transportation Coordination and Support
· Using the company van, provide transportation to individuals actively engaged in Full Circle Recovery’s Corrections Recovery Coaching Program.
· Transport recoverees from the Polk County Jail to approved reentry destinations, including residences, recovery residences, shelters, treatment facilities, and other stabilization-related locations.
· Provide transportation support for treatment appointments, probation/parole appointments, behavioral health services, recovery meetings, employment-related activities, medical appointments, substance use evaluations, and other approved recovery-related services.
· Coordinate transportation scheduling and communicate effectively with recoverees and program staff.
· Maintain professional boundaries and ensure recoveree safety during transportation encounters.
· Monitor transportation utilization and communicate recoveree needs or concerns to the Corrections Recovery Program Manager.
· Maintain awareness of personal safety and immediately communicate safety concerns, incidents, or emergencies to supervisor.
· Utilize appropriate de-escalation strategies and professional boundaries during recoveree interactions and transportation encounters.
Peer Recovery Support and Engagement
· Build rapport with recoverees in an understanding, non-judgmental, and compassionate manner.
· Utilize lived experience when appropriate to provide encouragement, accountability, and recovery-oriented support.
· Encourage recoverees to engage in treatment, recovery support services, and other community-based resources.
· Assist recoverees in identifying barriers to stabilization and recovery engagement.
· Support recoverees in building recovery capital and strengthening community connections.
Professionalism and Program Support
· Maintain professionalism while representing Full Circle Recovery within the community.
· Communicate effectively with correctional staff, treatment providers, probation/parole officers, shelters or residences, employers, and community partners.
· Assist with identifying transportation barriers and opportunities for program improvement.
· Support the mission, vision, and core values of Full Circle Recovery.
Documentation and Compliance
· Maintain accurate and timely documentation of interactions and referrals.
· Ensure compliance and confidentiality.
· Participate in team meetings and training sessions.
Self-Care and Professional Development
· Engage in ongoing training and professional development to stay informed about best practices in recovery coaching on topics such as ethics, boundaries, communication skills, recovery principles, and multiple pathways of recovery.
· Practice self-care to maintain personal well-being and resilience.
Other
· Assures all work performed is done in accordance with OSHA safety standards and those established by Full Circle Recovery.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· Lived experience with substance use disorder, sustained recovery, and/or medication assisted treatment (preferred).
· Must agree to complete the CCAR Recovery Coach Academy and Ethical Considerations for Recovery Coaches within six months of hire.
· Strong understanding of opioid use disorder, substance use disorder, harm reduction, recovery capital, and recovery pathways preferred.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Must be an independent thinker, trustworthy, dependable, and responsible.
· Ability to work collaboratively with diverse populations.
· Ability to listen empathetically and provide support without judgment.
· Demonstrated empathy and cultural competence to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
· Familiarity in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), virtual meeting platforms (e.g., Zoom), and data entry.
· Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and reliable transportation.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
· Field-based role with frequent driving and community-based work.
· Primarily daytime hours; occasional evening or weekend availability may be required based on participant needs.
· Regular interaction with individuals experiencing crisis, housing instability, substance use disorder, mental health challenges, and justice system involvement.
· Exposure to varying weather and driving conditions.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Driving, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, walking, lifting, reaching, talking, hearing, grasping and finger dexterity, repetitive motions.
· Sitting approximately 50 percent of the time.
· Standing approximately 20 percent of the time.
· Walking approximately 20 percent of the time.
· Driving approximately 10 percent of the time.
· Requires the exertion of up to 10 pounds of force continuously.
· Up to 50 pounds of force infrequently to lift or otherwise move objects.
VISION REQUIREMENTS:
· Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle in varying traffic, weather, and lighting conditions.
· Ability to observe surroundings and maintain awareness during participant transportation and community-based work.
· Ability to read and complete documentation and electronic communication.
