E&T Manager (Heavy Equipment / Oil & Gas / French) - Suriname

We are seeking an Energy & Transportation Manager to grow equipment, product, and aftersales revenue across Suriname and French Guiana. The role focuses on developing new business, strengthening relationships with existing customers, and leading a team that delivers solutions for power generation, marine, industrial, transportation, and oil and gas applications. The manager will be responsible for the department’s commercial strategy, daily operations, budget, and financial performance. The position is based in Paramaribo and involves regular travel to customer sites. Responsibilities Develop and execute sales and marketing plans for equipment, products, and aftersales services. Identify new business opportunities, prepare business cases, and build plans for new and used equipment sales. Lead and coach the team, set priorities, and support employees in developing solutions for customers. Build relationships with customers across the assigned markets and resolve issues promptly. Oversee quotations, pricing, sales coverage, and the introduction of new products. Prepare the department’s budget and forecasts, manage costs, and report on financial and commercial performance. Use CRM data to monitor customer activity, sales opportunities, and team performance. Work closely with rental, mining, marketing, and product support teams to deliver coordinated solutions. Promote safe working practices and maintain service quality across the department. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Management, Economics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Approximately 5–8 years of experience in commercial or sales operations, with a focus on solution-based selling. At least 3 years of management experience. Experience with power or energy systems, capital investment projects, and project management. Strong local network within industry and government. Technical understanding of equipment and solutions used in power generation, marine, industrial, transportation, or oil and gas markets. Good written and spoken Dutch and English. French, Portuguese, or Mandarin is an advantage. Experience with CRM and ERP systems, as well as Microsoft 365. Availability to travel regularly to customer locations, approximately 60% of the time, and occasionally abroad for meetings or training.
