Airframe & Powerplant Spec IV

General Atomics Global Japan, an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems.

Under general supervision this position is responsible for the entire Unmanned Aircraft System, including the modifying and configuring of aircraft and ground control stations to meet customer specified programs. Duties also include executing ground tests and supporting flight test activities. This includes flightline activities such as pre-flight, launch and recovery, and postflight data collection.
 

• →Service, troubleshoot, repair, inspect, maintain aircraft, engine and ground support equipment in support of test operations and sustainment activities in accordance with maintenance documentation.
• →Perform work on airframe and powerplant in support of operations and sustainment activities.
• →Develop and write procedures to improve work quality, training and records.
• →Assist in training programs and in the development of new programs as required.
• →Enforce and oversee the implementation of company policies and procedures.
• →Develop and provide training to Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) specialists and customers.
• →Oversee and/or perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
• →Inspect powerplant and related components at regular intervals adhering to company approved procedures, maintenance manuals, and/or government technical order requirements.
• →Repair fuel and/or oil leaks and/or engine problems as required.
• →Remove and replace airframe and/or engine components as needed.
• →Review records to ensure all required maintenance and documentation is completed in accordance with established company procedures for government and customer technical order requirements.
• →Independently troubleshoot and repair aircraft and/or engines and propulsion components when necessary and train specialists in troubleshooting.
• →Inspect, test, maintain and operate ground support equipment.
• →Perform all launch and recovery tasks of aircraft to include ground operations, pre and postflight items, ground observer responsibilities, and inspect, test, maintain and operate ground support equipment.
• →Act as a lead A&P specialist giving direction to less experienced A&P specialists.
• →Maintain a productive and safe working environment in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
• →Support compliance with GA Global Japan and program related standard operating procedures and related trade controls compliance processes.
• →Other duties as assigned or required.

• Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent and seven or more years of aircraft mechanical maintenance experience. .
• JCAB 1st or 2nd Class Aircraft Maintenance or FAA Airframe and Powerplant License is desired.
• English proficiency sufficient to receive applicable training.
• All eligible applicants must be legally authorized to work in Japan.
• Starting annual salary will be 8,000,000 - 11,000,000 JPY, depending on experience.
