Works Supervisor

We're looking for a Works Supervisor to work with our client Main Roads WA in Perth.

This is a 6-month fixed-term contract, working 50 hours per week, supporting the delivery of civil construction activities on a direct-managed Main Roads project.

We're seeking an experienced civil construction professional who is comfortable leading crews on site, coordinating subcontractors and ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required standards.

You'll be a hands-on leader who can provide clear direction, build strong working relationships and keep multiple work fronts moving in a dynamic project environment.

• Leading and coordinating day-to-day site activities across civil construction works
• Supervising construction crews, subcontractors and plant operators to ensure work is completed safely and efficiently
• Planning daily work activities, allocating resources and coordinating labour, equipment and materials
• Working closely with engineering, safety and quality personnel to support successful project delivery
• Monitoring construction progress, workmanship, productivity and site performance
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and work requirements to ensure works are completed in accordance with project expectations
• Managing contractor interfaces and maintaining effective communication across site teams
• Conducting pre-start meetings and promoting a strong safety culture throughout project delivery
• Identifying and resolving site issues to minimise delays and maintain project momentum
• Supporting the delivery of high-quality outcomes for Main Roads WA and key stakeholders

• →Minimum 5 years' experience within civil construction environments
• →At least 2 years' experience in a supervisory, leading hand or frontline leadership role
• →Demonstrated experience delivering roadworks, earthworks, drainage or pavement construction projects
• →Proven ability to supervise construction crews, subcontractors and mobile plant operations safely and effectively
• →Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and work fronts
• →Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and project documentation
• →Sound understanding of Work Health and Safety requirements within construction environments
• →Strong planning, organisation and problem-solving skills
• →Excellent communication skills and the ability to build productive relationships with project teams, contractors and clients
• →Current Western Australian C Class Driver's Licence

• Experience working on Main Roads WA or similar government infrastructure projects
• Relevant civil construction, supervision or leadership qualifications
• Experience working on live road networks and traffic management environments

GHD has been appointed by Main Roads Western Australia to deliver a state-wide Operational Asset Management Support Service (AMSS) contract. Under this contract, GHD provides centralised and regional support to assist Main Roads manage and maintain the State Road network.
