This team is responsible for the design, integration, development, certification, deployment and sustaining of Avionics Systems on large business jets and Air Transport platforms including the Bombardier Global series, Airbus A220, Embraer Praetor, Comac C909, and commercial derivative programs. This is a cross-functional team of systems, software, integration, test engineers, and certification groups developing avionics system solutions on multiple platforms on current and future architectures working with domestic and foreign Certification Agencies in an Agile environment that continuously incorporates new processes and tools.

We are seeking a highly skilled professional with a strong technical background in Avionics Systems Engineering. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in the development and integration of ARP4754A/DO-297 Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA) Systems, proficient in multiple aircraft subsystems. This is a hands-on position supporting requirements development, requirements-based testing execution, test script development, execution of scenario-based, robustness, and unintended function/behavior testing in a lab environment. Flexibility is necessary to maximize test assets utilization.

This is an onsite position in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

What you will do:

  • Complete assignments involving Design and Requirement Developments activities
  • On-site execution of requirements-based testing, robustness, and Ad-Hoc testing in a lab environment (schedule flexibility is necessary during formal test phases)
  • Be responsible for the troubleshooting and reporting of issues resulting from development cycles; the candidate will be capable of providing internal status as well as directly reporting to the OEMs as necessary.
  • Independently operate the rig facilities during testing phases of the program and during troubleshooting activities. A solid understanding of aircraft operational fundamentals is necessary, as the candidate will be required to execute flight test scenarios to validate system functionality and performance.
  • Test script development and execution
  • Produce PDR/CDR packages on aircraft features and presenting them to OEMs
  • Produce system certification level documentation
  • Integrate and own SW/HW Work Packages and Avionics features coordinating across multiple subsystem functional areas.
  • Estimate and bid engineering efforts
  • Provide regular updates on program status to key stakeholders.
  • Ensure traceability and compliance across all phases of the development lifecycle, adhering to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate effectively with engineers across multiple organizations, fostering a positive and productive team environment.
