Our Profile

In 2020, G Mining Ventures (GMIN) was created to acquire direct ownership of projects and capitalize on the value uplift that successful mine development offers. In July 2024, GMIN acquired the Oko West project. The Oko West Project is a new gold discovery in northwest Guyana. It is located south of the historical “Oko” gold district, some 95 km west of Georgetown.

Key Responsibilities

1.    Installation of HVAC Systems:
   o    Install air conditioning systems, including split units, window units, central HVAC systems, and ventilation systems as per manufacturer guidelines and safety standards.
   2.    Routine Maintenance:
   o    Conduct regular preventive maintenance on A/C units and systems, including cleaning filters, coils, and ducts, and checking refrigerant levels and electrical components.
   3.    Troubleshooting and Repairs:
   o    Diagnose malfunctions in A/C systems using tools and gauges and perform necessary repairs or part replacements to restore proper function.
   4.    System Performance Monitoring:
   o    Monitor system performance to ensure optimal efficiency, cooling output, and energy usage. Recommend adjustments or upgrades as needed.
   5.    Refrigerant Handling:
   o    Safely handle, recover, and charge refrigerants in compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
   6.    Compliance and Safety:
   o    Ensure all HVAC work complies with local codes, safety standards, and company policies. Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
   7.    Emergency Response:
   o    Respond promptly to A/C breakdowns or emergencies, especially in high-temperature environments where cooling is critical for operations or resident comfort.
   8.    Documentation and Reporting:
   o    Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, repairs performed, refrigerant usage, and system conditions. Report any major issues to the supervisor.
   9.    System Upgrades and Optimization:
   o    Assist in upgrading or replacing outdated systems for improved energy efficiency and performance.
   10.    Collaboration:
   •    Coordinate with electricians, plumbers, and other maintenance staff during installations or major repairs to ensure smooth workflow and integration.
   11.    Tool and Equipment Care:
   •    Ensure proper use, maintenance, and storage of HVAC tools, gauges, and equipment.
   

Qualifications/Skills and Experience

• Certification in AC and Refrigeration
• Experience in installation, service, or maintenance of AC systems.

Working Conditions

Position based at the OKO Project site.
Work Schedule – 14 days on/7 days Off
Transport, accommodations, and meals provided on site.

Compensation Package

1-year contract for the construction period, with the possibility of a permanent position once the mine is in operation.
