Student Surgical Tech | 40 hours per week | Surgical Services

• →Active participation in surgical consciousness.
• →Assure each operating room has the correct case cart, supplies, equipment and instrumentation according to individual provider preferences.
• →Monitor and maintain a proper sterile field during surgical procedures.
• →Prepares surgical instrumentation that will be used during procedures and assures proper assembly and function.
• →Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after operation.
• →Pass surgical instruments and supplies to surgeons and surgeons' assistants. Hold retractors and cut sutures, and perform other tasks as directed by surgeon during operation.
• →Monitor and continually assess operating room conditions, including patient and surgical team needs.
• →Prepare dressings and apply or assist with their application following surgery.
• →Participates in room turnover.

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required
• Graduate of a certified tech program or hospital trained through a formal education program Required
• Demonstrates knowledge and ensures competency and comprehension of all regularory standards.
• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
• Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote safety and security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and company.
• Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.
• The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong.
• The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
• The ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted.
• Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
• Actively looking for ways to help people.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects.
• Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of works, rules of composition, and grammar.

• The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.
• Certified Surgical Technician Preferred

Required: Graduate of a certified surgical technologist program or hospital trained through a formal education program.
