Key Duties and Responsibilities
Assist in editing and proofreading internal announcements and communication materials to ensure clarity, consistency, and adherence to university communication standards.
- Support the production of NewsBeat by selecting suitable photographs, resizing and optimising images, writing captions, and ensuring content is visually engaging.
- Draft news articles for University events or other communication content as required.
- Monitor local and international key calendar events/campaigns/activities relevant to developing topical content and to support timely communications planning and execution.
- Monitor social media content published by academic schools, professional services, student societies, and staff groups on their respective platforms, specifically those with potential to be communicated via NewsBeat or pitched to the media.
- Assist in maintaining records of communication activities or content schedules.
Provide administrative and operational support for internal and external communication initiatives, campaigns, and events as required.
Education & Qualifications
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Public Relations, Communications, or a related field.
Experience
Proficiency in social media platforms and familiarity with digital marketing tools. Have some knowledge in Event Management and Public Relations.
Competencies, Skills & Knowledge
Good in Communication and people skills.
Good in Writing skills ,Content strategy, planning and development
Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and a team player mentality.
Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
Familiarity with the higher education industry is advantageous but not required. Creative thinking and the ability to generate innovative marketing ideas.
