Highland Community College seeks an Administrative Applications Administrator to join our Information Technology Services team. This on-site professional-level position is responsible for administering and supporting the College's administrative application systems, helping to ensure effective technology operations, data integrity, and efficient business processes across the institution. Responsibilities
~2 min read- →Provide analysis, administration, and maintenance of administrative application systems by evaluating and resolving complex technical and operational issues.
- →Support end users of administrative applications by identifying, researching, documenting, tracking, and resolving system-related issues in a timely manner.
- →Monitor software releases, updates, and patches through vendor resources and professional networks to maintain system functionality and security.
- →Assess trends, regulations, and technological advancements impacting the College's ERP systems and prepare users for required enhancements and process improvements.
- →Stay current with industry developments through professional literature, training opportunities, conferences, and collaboration with peers.
- →Assist with the installation, testing, and implementation of software upgrades, patches, and new system functionality.
- →Plan and implement new data collection, reporting, and business process requirements.
- →Communicate software releases, enhancements, and system changes to technical and functional users.
- →Provide leadership, technical expertise, and project support for initiatives involving administrative applications.
- →Coordinate project activities, develop timelines, manage vendor relationships, and assist with resolving project-related technical issues.
- →Evaluate institutional business processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and system functionality.
- →Create, maintain, and manage user accounts and security access for administrative applications.
- →Assist in the development and maintenance of institutional data policies and procedures.
- →Collaborate with Institutional Research and campus departments to support data needs and reporting requirements.
- →Extract and analyze data from administrative systems to fulfill federal, state, institutional, and ad hoc reporting requests.
- →Perform other duties as assigned.
- Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Five (5) years of direct experience with administrative application software systems, systems analysis, and system design, preferably involving Ellucian Banner.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered.
- Knowledge of English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and vocabulary.
- Knowledge of enterprise administrative and educational software systems, preferably Ellucian Banner.
- Knowledge of Oracle databases, relational database concepts, and query tools.
- Knowledge of MS Access, SQL*Plus, PL/SQL, HTML, and related technologies.
- Knowledge of programming concepts, data warehousing principles, and database management practices.
- Knowledge of systems analysis methodologies supporting administrative and business operations.
- Knowledge of software installation, testing, implementation, and evaluation processes.
- Knowledge of project management, prioritization, and information technology resource allocation practices.
- Knowledge of large-scale administrative and academic software implementation projects.
- Knowledge of data analysis and utilizing information to support informed decision-making.
- Skill in report design and development, preferably using WebFOCUS.
- Skill in troubleshooting complex technical issues and implementing effective solutions.
- Skill in providing technical support and guidance to end users.
- Skill in delivering professional, responsive, and effective customer service.
- Skill in prioritizing multiple projects, deadlines, and competing demands.
- Skill in performing complex analytical and technical work related to database and application system management.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Skill in evaluating and improving existing programs, systems, and business processes.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse population of faculty, staff, students, vendors, and other stakeholders.
