Sterilization Control

• →Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
• →Familiar with surgical instrumentation and set preparation
• →Familiar with running autoclave
• →Knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures in a Surgery Center
• →Performs a variety of tasks related to set preparation
• →Knowledge of aseptic/sterilization/disinfection techniques, procedures, supplies, and equipment
• →Knowledge of what factors can violate the integrity of sterile package
• →Communicates supply and equipment repairs to proper personnel
• →Performs all duties in an independent manner with minimal direction and supervision

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Prior experience preferred
• Current CPR certification and capable of initiating cardio-pulmonary resuscitation in times of emergency
• Knowledge of principles of sterile technique
• Excellent Communication Skills

Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers. Ability to interact appropriately with colleagues for different purposes and different context.

Marginal: Must be able to remain in a stationary position at least 25% of the time. Medium work that includes moving objects up to 50 pounds occasionally. Perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature, or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips. Work independently and identify potentially more effective methods of work operations. Observing an area that can be seen up and down or to right or left while eyes are fixed on a given point. Ability to identify and distinguish colors.
