Our Client, a Karachi based company, seeks to appoint experienced professional for the following role:
The incumbent will lead the organization's engagement with government entities and public-sector stakeholders within Pakistan. The role will focus on strengthening government relations, navigating the regulatory environment, ensuring compliance with applicable requirements, and advocating for the organization's interests. The successful candidate should have strong knowledge of government policies, regulatory affairs, public administration, and stakeholder management.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Government Liaison: Serve as the primary interface between the organization and pertinent governmental bodies & relevant ministries
- →Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA)
- →Federal Board of Revenue (FBR)
- →Other government authorities and provincial ministries
- →Foster relationships at various levels of government to facilitate effective communication and dialogue Policy Advocacy:
- →Monitor, analyse, and interpret emerging policies and provide timely feedback
- →Develop advocacy strategies to policy decisions
- →Stakeholder Engagement:
- →Coordinate outreach programs, workshops, and meetings with government stakeholders to ensure the organization's objectives are well represented
- →Collaborate with industry associations and other stakeholders to promote joint initiatives on regulatory matters
- →Engage with senior management to shape the organization's response to policy changes and government directives
- →Compliance and Regulatory Oversight:
- →Obtain necessary licenses and approvals from local and federal government bodies
- →Work closely with legal teams to address compliance issues, regulatory changes, and disputes Crisis Management:
- →Manage and resolve conflicts with government entities that may arise from operational activities
- →Develop and implement crisis management protocols to address unforeseen operational disruptions, ensuring minimal impact on business continuity
- →Training and Development:
- →Provide training to internal teams on government regulations, compliance requirements, and effective communication strategies with government bodies
- →Mentor junior staff in government relations to build internal capacity for effective engagement
- Minimum 16 years of education, preferably a Master's degree from a renowned and HEC-recognized university in Public Policy, Law, Business Administration, Public Administration or relevant qualification Professional Experience
- A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in government relations, public affairs, or advocacy roles or retired armed forces officer; experience in the public sector is preferred
- At least 5 years of related functional experience in a similar role at an equivalent position or one position below
- Proven experience in dealing with government bodies and understanding the regulatory frameworks
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to analyze complex technical and regulatory documents
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant research tools
