COMPANY OVERVIEW:
The company is a leading multipurpose terminal operator managing port berths under a long-term concession with the Karachi Port Trust (KPT). It plays a critical role in facilitating Pakistans maritime trade by delivering efficient, reliable, and technology-driven terminal operations. With a strong focus on trade facilitation.
Location: East-Wharf Port (Keamari Port), Karachi (On-Site)
JOB PURPOSE:
Coordinate, support and assist the line manager across the revenue process – including customer billing (commercial and customer care), collections, revenue reconciliation, adjustments and aging reporting.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare revenue analysis and reconcile both revenue and accounts receivable against the trial balance.
- Process customer refunds for excess payments in line with established SOPs.
- Coordinate with Commercial and Customer Care so that monthly billing is closed before month-end, with no unbilled revenue remaining for any service.
- Maintain bank receipt vouchers against commercial receipts to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Perform monthly Oracle closing entries for revenue/rebate accruals and complete Group reporting templates within agreed timelines.
- Coordinate with IT to resolve system-related issues or discrepancies in Oracle revenue records.
- Support month-end close, financial reporting, annual audit and year-end closing; identify automation opportunities to improve efficiency.
- Provide the line manager with relevant data and inputs to support decision-making.
PEOPLE MANAGEMENT & COMPLIANCE:
Mentor and support junior staff; ensure administration, discipline and consistent performance; ensure Quality, Occupational Health, Safety & Environmental (QHSE) compliance; and promote a culture of team motivation and engagement.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Education: Min. 14 years of education in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting; professional certifications (CMA, ACCA) preferred but not mandatory.
Experience: Preferably 2–6 years in accounts and finance, with progressive experience in Accounts Receivable (AR) or general accounting, ideally in a mid-to-large organisation.
Language: Proficient in written and spoken English.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
Strong command of accounting and reporting standards; receivables management, revenue recognition and reconciliations; audit processes and internal controls; end-to-end AR processing (validation, invoice matching, month-end accruals); ERP systems (Oracle / SAP an advantage); ability to interpret financial data; and strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
