The Senior Manager – Pharma Commercial is responsible for leading the commercial strategy, growth, profitability, and market positioning of company's pharmaceutical portfolio. The role will drive category performance through strategic supplier and principal management, commercial negotiations, pricing governance, product portfolio optimization, demand planning alignment, and inventory management. The incumbent will be accountable for achieving revenue, margin, and market share objectives while ensuring regulatory compliance and product availability across all retail, hospital, and digital channels.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- Establish and govern pricing strategies while ensuring compliance with applicable pharmaceutical pricing regulations.
- Monitor market pricing trends, competitor activities, and regulatory developments impacting the pharmaceutical sector.
- Drive margin improvement initiatives through strategic pricing, sourcing efficiencies, and supplier negotiations.
- Analyze product-level profitability and implement corrective actions where required.
- Collaborate with Demand Planning and Supply Chain teams to ensure uninterrupted product availability across the network.
- Monitor inventory health, stock cover, fill rates, stock-outs, and aging inventory.
- Drive initiatives to optimize inventory investment while maintaining targeted service levels.
- Ensure effective management of short-dated, slow-moving, and non-moving inventory through proactive planning and liquidation strategies.
- Develop and review dashboards covering sales, margins, inventory productivity, supplier performance, and category contribution.
- Analyze business trends, market dynamics, and customer behavior to support strategic decision-making.
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual business reviews with senior management.
- Provide actionable insights and recommendations to improve commercial performance.
- Ensure compliance with pharmaceutical regulations, licensing requirements, and company policies.
- Coordinate with Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, and Operations teams to maintain compliance standards.
- Monitor changes in industry regulations and assess their commercial impact on the business.
- Lead and develop the Pharma Commercial team to achieve business objectives.
- Establish performance metrics, development plans, and succession pipelines for key roles.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- 10–12 years of experience in Pharmaceutical Commercial Management, Category Management, Buying, Sales, Trade Marketing, or Retail Pharmacy.
- Strong network and experience working with pharmaceutical manufacturers, distributors, and healthcare industry stakeholders.
Proven track record of delivering revenue growth, margin improvement, and successful commercial negotiations. - Strong understanding of pharmaceutical supply chains, pricing dynamics, regulatory requirements, and market trends.
