Project & Partnerships Coordinator Intern (Unpaid)
15–20 hours per week | Office-based | 6-Month Internship | Vienna, Austria

The International Cultural Diversity Organization (ICDO) is looking for a highly organized, proactive, and motivated intern to join our international team in Vienna.

This internship offers hands-on experience within an Austrian NGO with UN ECOSOC Special Consultative Status, working in the fields of intercultural dialogue, cultural diversity, sustainability, human rights, and community empowerment.

The internship begins with preparations for Long Nights of Interculturality (21–27 September 2026), one of Vienna's largest international cultural festivals, bringing together participants from over 30 countries. You will support the coordination of the festival, including communication with embassies, artists, speakers, cultural institutions, exhibitors, and participants, as well as assisting with the International Art Exhibition, panel discussions, official correspondence, participant registrations, logistics, and project documentation.

Prior to the festival, you will assist with preparing the International Art Exhibition and other festival activities, including coordinating with artists, preparing and printing exhibition labels and descriptions, curating and installing artworks, communicating with participants, preparing materials, and supporting the overall organisation of the event. During the festival week, interns are expected to be flexible and proactive, assisting with participant coordination, volunteer supervision, event logistics, communications, and ensuring the festival runs smoothly. We value individuals who take ownership of their work, show initiative, are not afraid to communicate with partners and participants, and understand that in a small international NGO every team member contributes wherever support is needed.

Following the festival, you will continue supporting ICDO through international project development by researching funding opportunities, assisting with Erasmus+, Creative Europe and other grant applications, identifying sponsorship opportunities, supporting communication with international partners, and contributing to the development of new projects and partnerships.

This internship is ideal for students or recent graduates interested in international relations, project management, European affairs, NGO management, intercultural dialogue, cultural diplomacy, sustainability, or community engagement.

Please note that this is an unpaid internship. We are therefore looking for applicants who are genuinely motivated to gain practical experience within an international NGO and who are able to commit to the full six-month internship (15–20 hours per week, office-based in Vienna). Applicants participating through Erasmus+ Traineeships or similar university mobility programmes are especially encouraged to apply.

At ICDO, interns are trusted with meaningful responsibilities from day one. If you are proactive, enjoy working in an international environment, and want to contribute to projects with real social impact, we would be delighted to welcome you to our team.
