As part of a large‑scale global transformation, a world‑leading FMCG company has partnered with Infosys to redesign and elevate its Global Business Services (GBS) to world‑class standards.
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Finance & Accounting Executive to support the establishment and operationalization of a new Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Romania. The role will partner closely with the Finance Business Partner and wider finance leadership team to ensure compliance with Romanian accounting, tax, statutory, and regulatory requirements during the setup phase and ongoing operations.
The successful candidate will bring a strong understanding of Romanian financial reporting, fiscal regulations, statutory compliance, and audit requirements. Previous experience with a Big 4 accounting firm or supporting statutory audits will be highly advantageous.
 

Key Responsibilities:

GCC Setup & Transition Support
  • Support the Finance Business Partner in establishing finance processes, controls, and governance frameworks for the Romania GCC.
  • Assist with the implementation of local accounting and reporting processes aligned with both Romanian statutory requirements and group policies.
Accounting & Financial Reporting
  • Maintain accurate accounting records in accordance with Romanian Accounting Standards and company policies.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
  • Prepare journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Assist with statutory financial statement preparation and filing requirements.
  • Monitor compliance with local accounting and reporting obligations.
Tax & Fiscal Compliance
  • Support direct and indirect tax compliance activities, including VAT and corporate tax requirements.
  • Ensure timely submission of statutory declarations and regulatory filings.
Audit & Internal Controls
  • Support external statutory audits and provide supporting documentation.
  • Support implementation of robust financial controls and compliance processes.
  • Assist in responding to auditor requests and addressing audit findings.
  • Contribute to risk assessment and control improvement initiatives.
Business Partnering & Stakeholder Management
  • Support financial analysis and ad hoc projects relating to the GCC setup.
  • Assist in documenting finance policies, procedures, and process maps.
 

Qualifications & Experience
Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
  • Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CPA, CECCAR, or equivalent) is preferred.
Experience
  • 3–6 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, audit, or tax functions.
  • Strong knowledge of Romanian accounting standards, fiscal regulations, and statutory compliance requirements.
  • Experience supporting statutory audits and financial statement preparation.
  • Prior experience with a Big 4 accounting firm (PwC, Deloitte, EY, or KPMG) or audit advisory environment is highly preferred.
  • Experience supporting new entity setup, finance transformation, or shared service/GCC environments is an advantage.
  • Experience working within multinational organizations is preferred.
 
 

Technical Skills
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Romanian GAAP and statutory reporting requirements;
    • VAT, corporate tax, and local fiscal regulations;
    • Financial controls and compliance frameworks;
    • External audit processes;
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Knowledge of SAP, Oracle, or other ERP systems is desirable.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
