As a Yield Development Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in identifying and addressing yield limiters throughout the lifecycle of advanced technology nodes. On a daily basis, you will analyze large-scale manufacturing data, perform statistical modeling, and drive process improvements to enhance yield performance. Your work will directly contribute to the successful ramp-up and manufacturability of innovative semiconductor technologies, ensuring product quality and driving Intel's technological leadership.
The Yield Development Engineer role resides within Intel Corporation's Yield Organization, which focuses on optimizing manufacturing processes and improving technology node yields. This group leverages advanced data analytics and engineering expertise across multiple disciplines to deliver high-quality, reliable products while supporting Intel's broader goals of innovation and market leadership.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Analyze manufacturing and experimental data to identify yield limiters and recommend process changes for yield improvement.
- →Develop statistical models and visualizations to construct accurate process development roadmaps.
- →Consolidate and analyze diverse big data sources using coding techniques, machine learning, and statistical methods to drive actionable insights.
- →Collaborate with cross-functional teams to debug yield limiters in design, test, and process development areas.
- →Perform fault isolation and failure analysis using tools such as ATE testing, DFx software, optical probing, logic simulation, and layout studies.
- →Develop tools and methodologies for high-volume data analysis and yield improvement actions.
- →Participate in design of experiments to support new product introduction and manufacturing ramp readiness.
- →Create measurement recipes to enhance product quality and resolve yield-impacting issues.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to lead cross-functional teams and drive yield improvements.
- Self-driven with a strong sense of ownership and ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments.
Requirements

Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum qualifications and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. This position is not eligible for Intel immigration sponsorship
- Bachelor's degree in Materials Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Chemistry/Physics with 6+ years of experience; OR Master's degree with 4+ years of experience; OR PhD with 2+ years of experience.
- Experience mentioned above should be a combination of the following areas:
- Expertise in engineering analysis tools, data analysis, and scripting methods for automation of standard analytical tasks.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and JMP for big data analysis, with the ability to create dashboards to democratize datasets.
- Understanding of logic or substrate process flows critical for yield analysis
- Experience in integration, yield analysis, LYA, failure analysis, test, defect metrology, or QNR.
- Demonstrated ability to connect analysis results to process fundamentals and systematically solve yield challenges.
- Familiarity with wafer-level or package assembly processes and associated yield considerations.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in the US: $115,110.00-219,550.00 USD
The range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
