Excavator Operator

The JADA Group of Companies is seeking experienced and safety-conscious individuals to join our operations team as Excavator Operators. KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS: • Operate excavators to dig trenches, foundations, and drainage systems, and to move earth, rock, and debris. • Load trucks with excavated material and assist with demolition or site preparation. • Conduct pre-operation inspections and maintain daily equipment logs. • Monitor machine condition, fuel usage, and report any mechanical issues or safety hazards immediately. • Interpret blueprints, grade stakes, or verbal instructions to determine project requirements. • Safely operate excavator in close proximity to people, structures, underground utilities, and other equipment. • Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance to ensure equipment is well-kept internally and externally. • Follow all site safety rules and company policies, always ensuring proper use of PPE. • Communicate clearly with site supervisors, spotters, and other operators to coordinate activities. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: • Minimum 2–3 years of proven experience operating excavators in a construction environment • Valid Heavy Equipment Operator License or certification. CORE COMPETENCIES: • Knowledge of construction site safety standards and operating procedures. • Ability to read and follow work instructions, site layouts, or verbal directions. • Strong understanding of grading, sloping, trench depth, and other excavation principles. • Knowledge of utility locating procedures and underground safety protocols. • Familiarity with different types of excavators • Strong attention to detail and spatial awareness. • Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment. • Excellent attention to detail and communication skills. • Willingness to work flexible hours and weekends. • Must be punctual and reliable.
