Heavy Duty Mechanic

The JADA Group of Companies is seeking experienced and safety-conscious individuals to join our operations team as a Heavy Duty Mechanic. KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS: • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic system issues in heavy-duty equipment. • Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance, inspections, and tune-ups in accordance with established service schedules. • Perform major repairs, including engine overhauls, brake servicing, transmission work, and hydraulic system maintenance. • Repair or replace defective components using the correct tools, diagnostic equipment, and manufacturer specifications. • Ensure all mechanical parts are cleaned, lubricated, and calibrated to maintain optimal performance. • Conduct performance tests after repairs to verify proper functionality and reliability. • Adhere strictly to company safety protocols, manufacturer standards, and best practices in all maintenance and repair activities. • Immediately identify and report any unsafe conditions, equipment defects, or potential hazards. • Maintain accurate and up-to-date service and repair records by completing all job requests, logs, and maintenance checklists on time. • Provide regular feedback to the Workshop Manager on recurring mechanical issues, high-cost repairs, and equipment replacement recommendations. • Identify necessary spare parts and coordinate with the procurement team to ensure timely ordering and delivery. • Collaborate with equipment operators and site supervisors to minimize downtime and ensure operational readiness. • Mentor and guide apprentice mechanics and service assistants, fostering skill development and adherence to best practices Requirements QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: • Technical certification/diploma in Heavy Equipment Mechanics, Diesel Mechanics, or related field. • Minimum 5 years’ experience in servicing and repairing heavy-duty vehicles and equipment in construction, or industrial operations. • Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems. • Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment. • Valid Heavy-Duty Driver’s License (an asset).
