Johnson Controls is a global leader in smart, healthy and sustainable buildings. In this role, you will lead truck-based HVAC service operations for data center customers across a regional territory, helping ensure reliable service delivery, strong customer outcomes, and safe field execution.


This position oversees HVAC domain service operations in a defined territory and directly manages a small team of Technicians and/or Technician Team Leads. You will be accountable for day-to-day service execution, team performance, customer satisfaction, and the on-time, accurate delivery of installations, inspections, and service commitments in a data center environment.


Responsibilities

  • →Provide day-to-day leadership and operational management for a truck-based HVAC service team supporting data center customers.
  • →Plan and coordinate scheduling, dispatch, and field execution to meet service commitments, SLAs, and customer expectations.
  • →Direct the installation, inspection, and service work performed by Technicians and Technician Team Leads, ensuring quality, accuracy, and timely completion.
  • →Manage labor utilization, staffing needs, and resource allocation across the territory to support current demand and future growth.
  • →Monitor service performance, profitability, and operational metrics, including revenue, margin, forecasting accuracy, and cost control.
  • →Coach, develop, and support team members to strengthen technical capability, customer communication, and field productivity.
  • →Partner with branch leadership and cross-functional teams to resolve issues, remove barriers, and keep commitments to customers.
  • →Support safety, compliance, and policy adherence across all service activities.
  • →Maintain clear communication with customers regarding work status, follow-up actions, and service outcomes.
  • →Contribute to service growth through customer account support, Labor and Materials (L&M) execution, and planned service activity where applicable.


  • You will take ownership of outcomes, holding yourself and the team accountable for safe, high-quality delivery and professional customer service.
  • You will stay close to the work, remove obstacles quickly, and keep priorities focused on what matters most to the customer and the site.
  • You will use clear follow-up, practical problem-solving, and candid communication to improve service performance every day.
  • You will work as one team across technicians, leadership, and support functions, building trust and using different perspectives to reach strong decisions.
  • Use workload planning, dispatch discipline, and regular field review to balance urgency, quality, and labor efficiency.
  • Track service execution closely so inspections, installations, and repairs are completed accurately and on time.
  • Develop team capability through coaching, feedback, and consistent expectations in the field.

Requirements

  • University degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in HVAC service, field operations, or a related technical service leadership role.
  • Experience directly managing or supervising technicians, team leads, or similar field-based employees.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC service operations, including installation, inspections, troubleshooting, and customer support.
  • Experience working with scheduling, dispatch, capacity planning, service coordination, or similar operational controls.
  • Ability to manage service performance, customer expectations, and team priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work with Microsoft Office products and standard service management tools for reporting, planning, and documentation.
  • Commitment to safety, compliance, and quality in a customer-facing field environment.

Nice to Have

  • Experience supporting data center customers or other mission-critical environments.
  • Experience managing Labor and Materials (L&M) activity, planned service agreements, or service account performance.
  • Experience with forecasting, margin management, budgeting, or account-level service reporting.
  • Background in building controls, mechanical systems, or a similar technical trade environment.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $89,400-125K (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) This role offers a competitive Bonus plan that will take into account individual, group, and corporate performance. This position includes a competitive benefits package.
